What's New Tuesday?

Hi Annette, Margo and you early-risers: I rose early only to rush to the bathroom ... must have had a lot of fluid in my body because I was running to the bathroom all night. We must have had some rain overnight here because I woke shortly before 7 to hear the wind whipping around and see some drops on the sill, so I closed the windows. Plus, my knee hurt like hell last night. I was down on the floor searching for an earring that fell and could barely get up it hurt so bad. Probably swollen from all that fluid. Still hurts today but not quite so bad. It's humid out there, I'm sure, and storms are coming beause I've been in a lot of pain. But enough about me. The bad news is about my friend Bruce, the one in Texas with the seven dogs. His cancer is progressing through his liver, lungs, etc. He probably only has three to six months to live. At one point earlier in the year, his oncologist said he was going to live through this Christmas and next; now that prediction looks very false, and the Mayo Clinic doctors' forecast rings more true. I don't think he'll last to Christmas. It's going to devastate my brother, because this is his best friend, almost like a brother to him. Please keep my brother Gary and Bruce's wife, Rita, in your thoughts, prayers or whatever you do. Bruce has accepted this. He is living his final months to the fullest. The most recent adventure was to participate in a cattle round-up.  I need a nap before work and I want to check on a Michigan friend who is having WLS today at Spectrum Blodgett in Grand Rapids. I thought about visiting her today before work but I just don't have the energy. Didn't sleep well because of the pain (so much for the pain injection ... but my back felt OK, just the neck and shoulders and, of course, the knee). See ya later.

Eileen, I just wanted to let you know that I am keeping everyone in my prayers. Special ones are being said for Bruce. It is a very hard thing to let someone that we love and care about go. Grief is a selfish thing. We greive not for the one who has passed but for ourselves because we must go on without them in our lives.

It's not what you gather, but what you scatter
that tells what kind of life you have lived.

Howdy Annette and all!!              Howdy  What a wonderful day....weather wise anyway!  Slightly warm with a breeze and a little overcast.    Mostly Sunny I like it like this.  It was great to walk in.  I missed Mary this AM as my walking buddy---she needed her shut-eye cause she stayed up to watch the Penguins beat the Red Wings.  I made it to the 2nd overtime.     Hockey 3  Tomorrow is my hair day...which by the way has miraculously started to get curly and wavy again on its own....I had hair like this until 1979 when I was in a terrible car accident and the medication I was on for pain made my hair go straight.  So for the last 29 years I have been getting perms.  I haven't had one since October...usually needed one every 4 months.  Wow....just think of all the $$$$ I will be saving!  Now, if only my natural color would return and I could stop paying for coloring!!!    YIPPEE!!!!        Barber  Well, there is the garage door, so the DS is home from school....6 days left and counting!!!  WOOHOO!!! Have a terrific Tuesday! Hugs, Lora

Okay, I'll post... I've got a pretty hum-drum life if you ask me, and surely nothing to write about...  I took the day off to go to the dentist this morning....no cavities but am suffering some bone loss... was told it was.... "You're growing up".... I equate that to "getting old". After the dentist, I called a friend that retired about 3 years ago who lives close to my dental office.  She was delighted I called, asked if I could come over... which certainly I did.  When I got there she told me that Saturday early evening about 6:30, she had gotten out of her car with a couple of cans of cat food. She feeds the neighborhood kittys across the parking lot from her apartment.  She was bent over putting the food in their dish when a man came out from the bushes, gun in hand, and grabbed her purse.  She did what most of us would do....she fought back... the gun fired past her ear... and he apparently hit her with it, as she said she smelled gun powder, saw the sparks, and felt a terrible pain in her left arm while she was falling to the ground. The purse was gone.   All of her credit cards, address book, glasses, etc were in the purse.  There were some witnesses.  By the time the police were called and she got back to her apartment, she called Macy's as that was one of her cards and $595 had already been charged.  This was by 8:30 p.m, not two hours later. Anyway, she had to stop everything, close all her accounts. She had ONE check left to pay for something today and the bank said they would honor it...but she has to wait for new cards and checks to be issued for new account numbers.  I picked her up, we went to breakfast and to Macy's. She bought a great purse and wallet and found a super summer sweater at Christopher & Banks.  She'll pay me back......:) Then to the All Shoes $6.99 store.  If you are a 6' transvestite you can find shoes in here that would knock your socks off.... size 8 is a little more difficult.  However, I found a really cute pair of mustard colored wedge heels, and a couple pairs of sandals.  Not bad. Then to the Euless Police Dept to file the complaint against the miscreant neighbor next door who did $317 worth of damage to my car with a hockey ball. Now home....just tried working out on WiiFit... screw that. I'm going to go drink a glass of tea and watch tv. Janet

Hi All, I cant remember if I posted yesterday or not. But I was quite sick yesterday. I left work early, came home and got in the bed and that is all she wrote. I am feeling much better today. I worked all day. I have to go to the card store and get a sympathy card for our friend who dad died 2 days ago in Denver. Nothing else going on.  Carla
